cadtoinr.ca is an independent currency-information service operated by WeCr8it, a Canada-based digital publisher. We track the live Canadian Dollar to Indian Rupee (CAD → INR) exchange rate and compare the money-transfer services people actually use to send money between Canada and India. We are not a bank, a money-services business, or a financial advisor — we are a publisher whose only job is to help you understand the rate and find the best way to move your money.
The idea came from a simple, frustrating experience shared by millions of people in the Canada–India corridor: you want to know how many rupees your Canadian dollars are really worth today, and instead you get outdated numbers, hidden bank markups, and comparison sites that quietly push whoever pays them the most. We built cadtoinr.ca to do the opposite — show the real live rate first, and be honest about how transfer services actually stack up.
What we do
Every day, hundreds of thousands of Canadians of Indian origin, international students, NRI property investors, and cross-border businesses need to answer the same question: what is 1 CAD worth in INR right now, and what is the cheapest way to send it? We answer both. Our tools include:
- A live CAD to INR converter and full conversion chart for amounts from $1 to $100,000 CAD.
- Dedicated pages for the Canada dollar rate in India, 10-year rate history, and a rate forecast.
- An impartial money-transfer comparison covering 15+ providers — Wise, Remitly, Western Union and more — with real rates and total-cost breakdowns.
- Plain-English currency guides on the Canadian Dollar and the Indian Rupee, plus the lakh & crore system and a regularly updated blog.
What we stand for
Real rates only
Every rate we display — current and historical — comes from a live data feed. We never invent, estimate, or pad a number to make a comparison look better.
Editorial independence
Our rankings are based on rate quality, fees, and delivery speed — not on who pays us. Commissions never change the order of a comparison.
Honest disclosure
We earn affiliate commissions from some providers, and we tell you exactly where and how in our affiliate disclosure.
Genuinely useful
No dark patterns, no fake countdown timers, no forced sign-ups. Just the rate, the comparison, and the context you need.
How we make money
cadtoinr.ca is free to use. We keep it that way through two things: display advertising, and affiliate commissions. When you click through to a money-transfer provider and sign up, some providers pay us a referral fee — at no extra cost to you. This is standard for comparison sites, and it is the reason we can offer everything for free. Crucially, these commissions do not influence our exchange-rate data or the ranking of our comparisons. If a bank offers a worse deal, we say so, whether or not they pay us. The full details are in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Where our numbers come from
Transparency about data is the foundation of a currency site, so we document it openly. Our rates are pulled from a live exchange-rate feed and refreshed continuously; the "mid-market" rate we show is the fairest midpoint of the global market, before any provider markup. We explain exactly how we source, refresh, and present every rate — and what its limitations are — on our How We Source Our Rates page.
Who we're for
NRIs sending money home — over two million Canadians of Indian origin who send money to family and want every rupee to count.
Students & parents — India is the largest source of international students in Canada, and tuition and living costs swing with the rate.
Investors & businesses — NRIs buying property in India and firms trading across the Canada–India corridor who need the rate for planning and invoicing.
Important disclaimer
We are an independent informational and comparison service. We are not a financial, investment, tax, or foreign-exchange advisor, and nothing on this site is financial advice. Exchange rates change constantly and the figures we publish are for general information — always confirm the final rate and fees directly with your chosen provider before you transact. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
