A currency site is only as trustworthy as its data. This page explains exactly how we source, calculate, refresh, and present every CAD to INR figure you see on cadtoinr.ca — and, just as importantly, what our numbers can and cannot tell you.
1. A live exchange-rate feed — never invented numbers
Every rate we display, both the current rate and the historical data behind our charts, is pulled from a live foreign-exchange data feed. We do not estimate, round up, pad, or fabricate rates to make any comparison look better. If the live feed is temporarily unavailable, we show a loading state or an honest empty state rather than a placeholder number — because a made-up rate is worse than no rate at all.
2. Updated continuously, roughly every 60 seconds
During market hours our converter and live-rate pages refresh the CAD to INR rate approximately every 60 seconds, so the number you see closely tracks the global market. Foreign-exchange markets run 24 hours a day on weekdays and pause on weekends and holidays; over those windows the rate you see reflects the last available market print until trading resumes.
3. We show the mid-market rate
The headline rate we publish is the 'mid-market' (or interbank) rate — the midpoint between the global buy and sell prices for CAD/INR. It is the fairest, most neutral representation of what one Canadian Dollar is worth in Indian Rupees. It is not the rate a bank or transfer service will hand you: providers add a margin on top of this rate, plus any upfront fee. The mid-market rate is your benchmark for judging how good (or bad) a provider's offer really is.
4. How we compare money-transfer providers
Our provider comparisons weigh three things: the exchange-rate margin a provider adds above the mid-market rate, the upfront transfer fee, and the delivery speed. We express the true cost as the difference between what you send and what your recipient actually receives, so a 'zero-fee' service with a wide margin is not disguised as cheap. Rankings are driven by this value calculation — not by which provider pays us the most.
Editorial independence
cadtoinr.ca earns money through display advertising and affiliate commissions — some providers pay us a referral fee when you sign up through our links, at no extra cost to you. This funding model has no influence on our exchange-rate data or on the order of our comparisons. A provider with a poor rate is ranked as a poor rate, regardless of any commercial relationship. Our full commercial arrangements are set out in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Forecasts and historical analysis
Some pages — such as our rate forecast and historical rates — include analysis and forward-looking commentary. Historical figures are drawn from recorded market data. Forecasts are informed estimates based on economic drivers such as oil prices, Bank of Canada and RBI policy, and trade flows; they are speculative by nature and should never be relied upon as a prediction of actual future rates. Currency markets are volatile and past performance does not indicate future results.
Limitations you should know
Rates can be delayed, cached, or briefly unavailable, and they change continuously — a number may be out of date by the time you read it. The mid-market rate we show will differ from the rate any provider actually applies. Always confirm the final rate, fees, and delivery time directly with your chosen provider before you transact. Nothing on this site is financial advice; see our Terms & Conditions.
Corrections policy
If we publish something inaccurate, we fix it promptly. Spotted an error in a rate, chart, or comparison? Report it and we'll investigate and correct it as quickly as possible.
